Past Perfect Continuous Lesson Plan – Free Download

The past perfect continuous tense helps English learners (ELs) describe actions that were ongoing in the past before another event occurred. In this lesson, students will explore how to form and use this tense with examples.

Keep in mind: this tense can be challenging for ELs because it combines aspects of the past perfect and past continuous tenses, requiring students to consider both time relationships and verb forms. How to teach this Past Perfect Continuous lesson plan

Past Perfect Continuous (VC4.1) is an ESL lesson plan download at the CEFR: B2 / WIDA: Expanding+ level. It is the first of two lesson plans on this verb tense.

Objective: Use the past perfect continuous tense in positive form. Compare between the past perfect continuous and the past perfect simple.
