In today’s Webinar we would like to share some techniques we’ve developed for teaching ESL online.
This is a great Webinar to watch for any teachers using Skype, Google Hangouts or a similar videoconferencing system to teach their ESL students online. Hi! I have already signed up for access to the off2class lessons, but as I could see in this video, how can I use these tools such as drawing on the screen and also allowing students to see the websites and the Youtube video I am watching? Thanks!

Thanks for signing up to our lessons.
In the video, I am using a videoconferencing system called Zoom. You can check it out at http://www.zoom.us. It allows you to share the screen, so that you can use our lesson plans and their annotation and drawing tools. Zoom is a lot like Skype but it’s my favourite system for teaching online.

Hi good evening I’m at japan right now and i want to teach English through online. Is it possible that i can teach without a degree but only a skill? Thank you for your answer.

Hi Kojin,
I’m probably not the best person to answer your question. I think that motivation and skill are important to teach Engish online. However, an effective educator also needs a minimum of understanding of what he or she is going to teach. Perhaps not a degree, but generally some kind of training is advisable.

As a teacher who studied “Teacher training course” and with more than 20 years of experience teaching, I would say that you need more than motivation. Kojin, you made some grammar mistakes in your comment, so I suggest if you want to teach others, you should learn your grammar first.
I think that a degree is not necessary, but a mastering of the language is. Otherwise you’d be teaching mistakes.

Hi,
I am currently working as the Director of Studies for a language institute. Actually, my sheer love for English language teaching inspired me to acquire my masters in TESL since I studied Philosophy for my first degree. A lot of students have passed through my hand and I am even in contact with a number of them. However, it has never occurred to me to move into full time business until I read your article. I urgently need your help to kick start. Thanks.

Hi,
I’ve just registered, so I’m starting to get familiar with OFF2CLASS. I’ve been a teacher for more than 30 years, so I’ve seen and experienced loads of changes in ELT. Fortunately, I’ve been able to “survive” and now I’m working at a university in Lima, Peru where English courses have become blended. Yesterday, I was offered a position as an e-tutor for the Post-graduate Program and I accepted, so I’m willing to use everything I find useful on the Internet. Thank you for helping us teachers to go on with our professional development.

Thank you for introducing yourself. We really love to hear about teachers who are finding and using our product. Please feel free to offer suggestions and constructive criticism once you have spent some time using the site.
