Can I teach without an internet connection?

In general, we recommend having an active internet connection while teaching. The site does not use a lot of bandwidth, so even tethering off a mobile connection could be sufficient.

If you do need to teach students in a location without internet, you need to do the following:

  1. Log in where you have an Internet connection
  2. Open the desired lesson
  3. Close your computer, but do not close the browser or switch your computer off!
  4. Open your computer again when you are in your teaching location. You’ll only be able to open one lesson, and you won’t be able to use the dynamic parts of the classroom such as saving notes, sending homework, using the canvas etc.  However, you will be able to navigate the slides with your student.
