Read full storyWhile we currently have many users teaching students in China, due to the ever-changing governmental circumstances that are completely outside of our control, we’re unable to make any kind of guarantee about the quality or connection of the site for students based in China.
Our understanding is that many people use Skype and GoToMeeting with Off2Class to teach Chinese students, but again, there is no guarantee that it won’t be blocked in the future by Chinese authorities.
You can improve quality by using a video conferencing system that, number one, works in China, and number two, has a screen sharing function. That way, if a student struggles with issues like slow website speeds, you can still show them the content by sharing your screen. We’ve also had users report higher levels of success when their China-based students have access to a VPN.
To sum up, Off2Class is not specifically blocked in China, we have no reason to suspect it will be, and we have many teachers who use Off2Class with students there. However, we will be unable to help you troubleshoot any technical issues relating to your students, nor can we guarantee that Off2Class will function properly.
