Read full storyProviding a trial ESL lesson is an inevitable part of teaching ESL independently. The typical conversion funnel for obtaining a new ESL student looks something like this:
But how do you maximize your chances of success? How do you structure your communication before and after the trial ESL lesson to maximize your chances of a sale? What should you do during the trial ESL lesson? That’s what today’s webinar is all about!
Chris Rush has been teaching English exclusively online since 2012. He has taught over 1,000 students from over 100 countries, and he helps teachers successfully make the transition to online teaching. You can read more about Chris’ story here.
Off2Class is an ESL Teacher Toolkit designed for blended environments (screen-equipped classrooms, online lessons, and one-2-one tutorials). It’s comprised of a vast Lesson Content Library, a Free Placement Test and Free Interactive Games.

Great webinar. I was locked out and didn’t get to watch it live (too many got in the door first!)
However, I watched the replay and felt quite re-envigorated!
Am I able to find a link to that two-page summary that Chris talks about at the beginning?

Hi Brett! Glad you enjoyed. I’ll let Chris answer you on the 2-page summary. Perhaps you’re referring to his video walkthrough of his profile: https://betterbusinessenglish.leadpages.co/italki-otc/ ?

Hi Kris,
I’ve just watched the recording of Chris Rush’s webinar on How to Give a Great Trial ESL Lesson. I was very encouraged to learn that, like me, he is a great believer in Off2Class and incorporates the placement test and builds the package plan around it.
I am also curious about his two page cheat-sheet and wondered if you still had the link to this. I guess I can always contact Chris directly about this but if you have it I would be most grateful if you could pass it on.
Many thanks,
James.

Hi. Another great video. I plan to use the assessment and off2class. Would I go over the assessment and a mini lesson based on errors during the “show the mechanism”?
Chris says:

Hi Ryan, thanks! Yes, definitely go over the assessment, but you may not have time for the mini lesson, and that’s OK — as long as you’re mapping out what lessons will look like, that will be enough!
